Improving

It's been a few weeks since I have written. Unfortunately at the beginning of April Travis lost his Grandmother, luckily he was feeling well enough for us to make the trip down to Springfield, VT for the funeral. Travis also had his 37th birthday on April 4th, we celebrated with a simple meal at home. He had his third round of chemotherapy on April 12th (see picture) which went smoothly and we got some good news. Chemo has been working for Travis, he is feeling much better (in fact he feels like a different person compared to two months ago!). The doctor plans to give Travis another two rounds of chemo, then they will most likely perform a CT Scan to see how things are going. His blood work shows that his liver functions are improving which is also great news! Travis is able to get around more and is feeling more "normal". Over the past couple of weeks he has been increasing his activities outside of the house, sometimes he gets pretty tired but overall he is able to do what he wants.

I was on school vacation this past week and we were able to spend some time together. We spent time with some of our friends and their dogs at the dog park, took a big trip to the grocery store and even took a day trip to Rutland. We stopped in Brandon for lunch on the way home and ate our sandwiches by the falls (see photo), it was a gorgeous day! My parents and sister came to visit this past weekend. We went to Church street, had lunch at Juniors and took a day trip to Shelburne with a trip to Folino's for lunch. Travis enjoyed spending time with everyone and was not too tired at the end of it all. Today we went to the movies to see the Jungle Book and went to Rocky's for creemees (our first of the season).

Overall things have become a little more "normal" for us. Travis is definitely feeling much better, physically and mentally. His appetite has returned and he is able to eat more now which is great. We have experienced an incredible amount of support from friends, family, acquaintances and people we barely know. These people's kindness has provided us with comfort and hope during this time. We are hoping that Trav's treatment plan continues to improve his health and keep him feeling more like himself. He will go in for his fourth chemo treatment this coming week, we will keep you updated!
